With approval from the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH), Carthage Area Hospital, Jefferson Community College (JCC), Jefferson County Public Health Service (JCPH), North Country Family Health Center, River Hospital, Samaritan Medical Center and the Volunteer Transportation Center will work collaboratively to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to groups 1a and 1b, once vaccine arrives in Jefferson County. The preparation and planning is complete and could be up and running as early as next week if supply is available.

Jefferson County Board of Legislators has appointed Damon Draught, Watertown, and Cindy F. Intschert, Sackets Harbor, to the JCC Board of Trustees, effective December 3, 2020. Draught's appointment fills the unexpired term of Lisa A. Weber through June 30, 2021. Intschert's appointment fills the unexpired term of Eugene R. Renzi through June 30, 2026.

JCC is pleased to announce Joel F. LaLone, Distinguished Professor and Research Director of the Center for Community Studies, will conduct his spring 2021 sabbatical as a visiting scholar at Syracuse University to contribute to data collection research of a newly developed wastewater surveillance and detection system that correlates to the coronavirus.
