College President Announces Inaugural Fundraising Initiative: “Community Impact Fund for Career Education”

Published: April 02, 2024

On March 15, 2024, Jefferson Community College (JCC) announced the establishment of a Community Impact Fund for Career Education during the inauguration of its new college president, Dr. Daniel J. Dupee, II.

Dr. Dupee’s initiative, in collaboration with the Jefferson Community College Foundation, will provide the College with the ability to swiftly stand up industry-specific training programs to meet the employment needs of the local community, as well as provide tuition support to the students enrolling in these courses.

"Together, we will build an extraordinary opportunity for our students to not only accomplish great things, but also to thrive in an ever-changing world,” says President Dupee. “Just as we've learned from the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, we understand the importance of learning how to pivot quickly and adapt to unforeseen circumstances. Through resilience and innovation, we will strengthen the entire North County community, ensuring our students are equipped to navigate any future uncertainties with confidence and agility."

Designed to provide Jefferson with the flexibility to rapidly develop and implement training programs tailored to the demands of local industries, the Community Impact Fund will assist in equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the workforce while also meeting the needs of employers in the region.

Benjamin G. Foster, Executive Director of the Jefferson Community College Foundation, states, "The Community Impact Fund, launched in honor of the college's 7th president, underscores his unwavering belief in the power of community engagement. By supporting this fund, donors are directly contributing to the development of a skilled workforce and the prosperity of our region. It presents an opportunity for businesses and individuals alike to make a tangible difference in our community."

Jefferson invites businesses and community members to explore the Case Study for the Community Impact Fund.
