Jefferson Community College (JCC) held its annual Distinguished Alumni and Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on September 21, 2018. Three distinguished alumni were recognized for their professional achievement and exemplary commitment to their community and Jefferson Community College. One individual was inducted into the Class of 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic success and significant contributions to JCC's athletic program.
The Jefferson-Lewis Association for Counseling and Development and Jefferson Community College (JCC) will hold Higher Education Day on Monday, October 1 in the JCC McVean Center Gymnasium. The day sessions will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and an evening session from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A financial aid presentation will be held during the evening session from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the Jules Center Amphitheater, Room 6-002. Higher Education Day is open to anyone thinking of attending college classes or furthering their education. Admission is free.
Published September 6, 2018 Registration is open for Jefferson Community College (JCC) late session, 8-week courses, beginning October 22, 2018. Classes are held online, on Fort Drum, and on campus in Watertown. Anyone may take a late session JCC course. Condensed late session courses are of most interest to adults who find time on their hands after their children have gone back to school, active duty military seeking college credits to use towards a future promotion, and current students. For current students, late session poses an opportunity to pick up more college credits and shorten the time to graduation or maintain their full-time/part-time status after a change in schedule. Late session classes wrap up by December 12. Current JCC students should register online. Sophomore Middle Blocker, Alexa R. Runyon, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) volleyball team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending September 2, 2018. JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions and Under Armour.
This year marks the 50th reunion of the Jefferson Community College Class of 1968 and the 25th reunion of the Class of 1993. Along with the Class of 1968 and Class of 1993, alumni of the College's Criminal Justice Program will be honored during Cannon Blast Weekend to be held September 21-23, 2018. Jefferson has over 22,000 alumni!
